I dont want to be a GOTH!!!
I was talking on MSN with Tan Iok Khai, and suddenly he said that I am becoming like a goth.
Goth, what the hell is that? I only know gothic.
According to TIK, goth means someone who's like a geek, heck care to his surroundings, prefer to stick to a few close friends, more rebellious, don't hesitate to try anything and likes to wear black.
First impression of these words kinda scare me. I know I'm becoming more heck care, more rebellious, and prefer to stick to a few close friends. BUT I DON'T WANT TO BE LIKE THAT. Serious. I'm really afraid of that.
So immediately I changed my nick to: - [^*^shU WeN^*^] - I don't want to be a goth!!! NO!
Then soon after, Huiling responded. She say she wants to be a goth, and I asked her why. At that time goth is a bad thing to me already. In her opinion, goth is some kind of dressing style, like gothic style. Then I went to dictionary.com and check the true meaning of it, and it turns out to be:
1.A style of rock music that often evokes bleak, lugubrious imagery.
2.A performer or follower of this style of music.
So I concluded that TIK bluff me, and I scolded him for bluffing me. I was kind of relieve that I'm not a goth. =D
Then Jack saw my nick and ask me what's goth. Then I explained what TIK and Huiling told me. And in the end, he found this for me.
Someone who likes the darker side of things. They usually listen to death metal and goth music, such as Dismember and Bauhaus. Marilyn Manson is NOT goth. He's just...weird. Real goths are not depressing and suicidal like the posers you see at Hot Topic. Goths are fun to be around and aren't afraid to laugh at themselves every so often. They don't worship Satan and aren't evil despite what some ignorant people might say. Goths don't all dress alike either. They like to create their own unique style. Goths are also very intelligent and creative. A lot of them are writers and artists. Goths DON'T envy the popular people. They are what they are because it makes them happy. Goths would rather stay who they are and be among the so called "freaks" than be like everyone else and be popular. They understand that there are more important things in life than popularity, and usually succeed in life while the popular ones don't become much of anything. If someone becomes "goth" because they couldn't get any friends or are depressed and angry all the time, they are most likely a poser.
Ok this is certainly a more neutral stand on goths, I can accept that. But still, I DON'T WANT TO BE A GOTH. Oh man, I know I'm heck care nowadays, that's why I always pon school. I know I prefer to stick with a few close friends, because somehow I feel I don't have the courage to make new friends anymore. But at the same time, I know I shouldn't always depend too much on a person. And me dyeing my hair had comments saying that I'm becoming more ye and rebellious. But I repeat, I DON'T WANT TO BE A GOTH. NEVER.
I'm that kind of person who doesn't want to be labelled as a freak. And I to tell the truth, I do care about popularity, no matter how slight it is. I'm an I person. You can't blame ya? I want to be liked by others. That's the truth, though it may sound kind of superficial.
But Jack say I'm not a goth, so I'll believe that. =)
I hope I will never be someone who I think I don't want to be.
Anyway, I've been thinking through some stuffs. I've been feeling miserable for quite some time already, and I think it's all because of ME-my mentality.
Yea, a lot of people say JC is a time to have fun and know loads of friends. But for me, I choose to shut myself and keep to my own world, pon lessons and school, and make myself so miserable. It's all my fault.
I think it's time I should wake up and change all these. It's easy to say, but it's not easy to achieve, really. I always say that I need time to not feel miserable. And till now, it's still like that. Nothing's changed. I think I should really learn how to let go of certain things. Many soul searching to do, which are easy to say, but difficult to achieve.
