'Danny' Fund...a resounding success
Thanks to those who contributed to the 'Danny' Fund, especially those who contributed alot more than what is expected from them, and made the job of the manager (me) easier. Thanks alot!! (Jon-didi, Sam.....)
I'm proud to announce that we collected a total of S$363 from 34 people. There's a pretty awesome sum ya? Danny is so blessed to have so many people who loved him, especially the juniors I guess. Hahaz. Most of them gave 10 bucks, and seriously I didnt expect so many people to give so much at the beginning. I only thought we could collect till the most $250. But well, I'm sure Danny should be extra nice to those who contributed to the fund ba.
So we (Me, Danny, Xiao-bian) went to Sim Lim Square to go for mp3-hunt. There are so many electronics shops, ranging from handycams to digicams, mp3s to VCDs, computers to whatever there is, and we really had a hard time looking for the right shop with the right price.I hate it when you just come out from the escalator and a bunch of people will stuff leaflets onto your hands, and worse of all, all of them are not what you're looking for.
We had a fun time bargaining price actually. Hahaz!! =)
First we went to this shop call IT Hub, because my first impression of it was quite good. Dont know why also. Danny say it's because of the guy, but hell it's not!! Who cares about that. Anyway my first impression was wrong.
The shop is selling it's Zen Neeon for $299, and the adaptor at $57. As usual, we die die also must ask for some discount, but the person simply refused to budge and compromise, and only gave us a $2 discout. -_-'''. $2 can only buy us a box of Tagopatchi ok.
So, we went to another shop nearby which sold it's Zen Neeon for $295. Ok, it's only $4 cheaper, but the person there was friendly and his attitude is better. Somehow good service will convince us to buy it, and it's like the cheapest we can find already. So we happily paid up, and then the person return us extra $10 for change! I dont know if he key in wrongly or what, but of course being smart we kept quiet. So the Zen Neeon actually only cost us $285!!! So good!! Indeed, it was the cheapest we can find there. =)
So we went back to that IT Hub shop because only that shop sells the original creative adaptor. And once we stepped in, the man gave a 'zhui' look and grinned, " So what colour do you want?" He thinks that he had won, but he was so appalled to hear that we only want the adaptor. Ha Ha Ha, orbi!! Then his colleague (the one who served us before that) 's face turned really black. Atmosphere is kind of tense, and the person told us that he actually can give us more discount. What's the use of telling us that when we had bought it already. Too bad.
Singaporeans are all pragmatic, they go for the cheapest and most valuable prices, so that guy cant blame us for that. And certainly I think they need to improve on their service.
I guess Danny's Birthday luck helped him to get what he wanted in a very valuable price! Made me feel really excited too!
